1 Session, 8 Hours Total. This class will instruct the student on basic fire alarm systems, fire detection principles and types of detectors and their application. Conventional and analog addressable systems will be examined and compared. Circuit classifications will be explained and compared. An overview of NFPA, NEC and the IBC codes will be reviewed. Systems Inspection and Maintenance will be covered. This seminar will be facilitated by an industry professional from Hochiki America Corp.

1 Weeks, 3.5 Hours Total. Includes the OSHA Electrical Safety book. Safety related work practices are covered such as, definitions, the difference between over and under 600 volts, hazardous locations class 1, 2, and 3, and electrical flash safety. General maintenance on electrical distribution components will be reviewed. In addition, other topics of discussion will include batteries and battery rooms, lasers and power electronic equipment.

| MOTOR CONTROL WIRING, BASIC |

2-Weeks, 8 Hours Per Session, 16 Hours Total. This is a hands-on control wiring class. The student will be instructed in the wiring of different motor control schematics. You will gain an understanding of the troubleshooting process as the motor control boards are wired up by using a meter to take various voltages and current measurements using the hopscotch method of electrical troubleshooting. A basic understanding of motor troubleshooting will also be included. Hands-on tools for class use will be provided.

1 Sessions, 8 Hours Total. This one-day program explores the different types of schematics that technicians see in the work environment. Students will learn how to read a ladder diagram, become familiarized with various ysmbols, and learn how to use a meter to check components prior to being wired into the sytem. This program will also cover different motor control schematics, and the Hopscotch and Tiedown methods of troubleshooting.
